I cannot praise this camera enough. I am a photographer in my spare time (my main camera is the Canon EOS 5D). I use the A610 for holiday snaps and when I don't want to lug my main camera gear around. The images from this camera are superb. It may only be 5MP but that doesn't mean a thing for normal camera use. You can make prints at A4 with no problem and above too with little degradation. Don't be fooled by mega pixels - the more isn't necessarily the better. The other thing I love about this camera is the video capability (I use that a lot). It shoots fullscreen 30fps video beautifully. A very handy feature is the fold out screen. IT enables you to get those awkward shots, like along the ground or above your head. It's not the smallest camera around but I like that - especially with a 4X optical zoom as it makes it easier to keep steady. It feels really robust too. I have dropped it a couple of times and it's working fine. It also has full manual control as well as aperture priority and shutter priority. The Macro feature is very impressive.
