Free 25Gb SkyDrive online storage AND Free mapping to a desktop drive using SD Explorer

If you are a mobile person that goes everywhere with a usb stick, always tranferring files for use between computers, and always doing version updates, you will find this useful. If you are a techie expert this may not be such a groundbreaking suggestion, but to novices / medium level users this will be very useful. I have split my sugestion into 2 parts.

PART 1 - Windows Live Skydrive offers 25Gb free online storage. Sign up here: http://skydrive.live.com ... This is great in itself, but it's a hassle to use online. Using the drag and drop facility (available only in Internet explorer, not firefox) you can only drag and drop files (not folders), so it's a hassle manually setting up folders.

PART 2 - The holy grail is to be able to map your online storage to a drive on your normal desktop computer (cloud computing). Download and install this free tool called SD Explorer, and enter your windows live / skydrive username and password: http://www.cloudstorageexplorer.com/ ... The free version of this tool does have a few restrictions but you will find perfectly useable workarounds. You will now be able to use your online storage just like a normal hard drive on your computer desktop.

Might just make your life that teeny weeny bit easier!
